Summit Kids

Partnering with Parents to Make Disciples

Mission

Our mission for kids from 0-18 is the same as broader church: together in the gospel, together for the gospel, to the glory of God.  Because we believe that Scripture is clear that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children, our hope is to partner with parents in their pursuit of this mission, coming alongside them in the discipleship process. We do this in many ways, through Sunday morning programing, weekly programming and events.

DJ Pittman

NextGen Minister

“Our desire is to provide an atmosphere for children to gather and hear of God’s great love and to equip parents with resources and techniques to teach their children gospel truth.”

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

—  Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Sunday Morning

Summit Kids Sunday Mornings are designed for children to hear and learn biblical truth in a context that they are able to comprehend. More than that, they will come to know and understand God’s desire for relationship with them and how to obtain that through prayer and repentance. Children are exposed to age appropriate worship and heart felt conversations about God’s grace, mercy and sacrifice. As children continue to grow in the gospel, our hope is that we will witness them surrender their lives to the Lord and make the choice to follow Him.

Check In

Check-in begins 15 minutes before services start. If you are a returning family, you can simply visit one of the three iPad Check-In Kiosks and tap in the last four digits of your phone number.  If you are visiting for the first time, please visit the check-in desk and a team member will be happy to assist you and your family.

Every parent/guardian checking in a child will receive a security sticker.  The stickers serve two purposes:

  • Parent Paging – If we need you during service, the number on your sticker will be displayed on the screen in service.
  • Child Pick-up – You must present your portion of the sticker to your child’s classroom leader before we release your child.

For health standards, children must be free from fever or symptoms of contagious disease for 24 hours. Let us know of any allergies or medical conditions your child may have.

Baby Dedication

When dedicating your baby, you celebrate a commitment to raise your child in the ways of the Lord. You also commit to joining a community of believers who help you and hold you accountable. We welcome you into that community and give you the opportunity to introduce your baby to our church family.

Child Baptism

We treat the baptism of children with special care. If your child expresses interest in baptism, please schedule an appointment to meet with Summit Kids staff.

Serving in Summit Kids

Our volunteers are required to be trained and screened, and we maintain strict teacher-to-child ratios to ensure safe care. Summit Kids teachers are also parents and grandparents, therefore they have a vested interest in the spiritual lives of children. As true discipleship is carried out in relationships, teachers are encouraged to have fellowship with one another and to engage the families of the children they minister to. It is from this context that we are able to bridge the gap from teaching to discipleship. When you are ready to join our team, ask any teacher how to get connected.
